Teach Using Labs

Teacher Friendly Labs and Activities allows a teacher on a traditional 54 minute period or a 90 minute block the opportunity to have a hands-on learning opportunity every day! A great way to divide the time, apply a concept and keep students engaged. Instead of lab once or even twice a week, students get a lab activity every day. Teacher Friendly Chemistry Labs are designed to be used as a 15 to 30 minute lab activity to introduce terms, teach content, apply calculations or experience proper lab techniques. Get the students out of their seat and into the lab!

Sample Lesson Plans
Below are some example lesson plans I have used on a 54-minute period. The warm-up/activity/cool-down planning keeps students active and engaged. The warm-up activity may have a 5-10 minute mini-lecture followed with a few problems and the completion of selected conclusion questions which serve as a "lab ticket" that must be completed before being able to move into the lab area. The focus is to teach content using labs and then follow-up with a problem based or inquiry lab.
