First Year Chemistry Labs and Activities

This is a modified copy of my syllabus for my first year chemistry students. For my student syllabus the first column contains the textbook chapter and the state standards covered but for this website it has been changed to general materials required.

The syllabus contains all the "content teaching" labs that are used to replace lecture or to immediately provide a hands-on experience to reinforce a 5-10 minute mini-lecture. The syllabus includes some, but not all, of the problem-based labs or guided inquiry labs that are done throughout the year. Some of the labs below have been incorporated into a project based learning unit. My first year students spend over 100 days in the lab, truly an environment of hands-on learning!

Note: Labs in Italics are not contained in binder 1 or 2.
